A piece of history

Rijnstaal originally comes from Alphen aan den Rijn and was founded in 1960 by Gerrit Lieftink. This company became Lieftink Constructie and was passed on to the second generation in the early 1980s. In 1986, it was split into Lieftink Geveltechniek bv and Lieftink Staalbouw bv. In 2003, the latter company became Rijnstaal Alphen bv. The activities of Rijnstaal Alphen primarily focused on hall construction, utility construction, and the production of composite beams. In 2008, Theo Hendriks and Anton van Vliet acquired both Civiele Technieken deBoer and Rijnstaal.

After the acquisition of deBoer and Rijnstaal, it was essential for both companies to be located together. Therefore, it was decided at the time that both Rijnstaal and deBoer would move to the same building in Nieuwegein.

Rijnstaal is capable of providing our clients with high-quality steel constructions through craftsmanship, quality, experience, loyalty, and pride. Driven to collaborate on solutions that lead to realization in a safe manner, according to schedule, within budget, and ultimately to an extremely satisfied client relationship. We achieve this by continuously investing in our people and production resources. With our in-house partner deBoer, we are able to relieve our clients of concerns in the areas of engineering, 3D modeling, assembly, and project management.

Nieuwegein

How we built our foundation

At Rijnstaal, we believe it is very important that everyone has a good workplace that is designed to meet the needs of the user. So when Rijnstaal was going to move to Nieuwegein in 2019, we designed a new workshop in-house that exactly meets the needs of our welders. We manufactured and built this workshop ourselves. We can therefore proudly say that our new workshop was born in the old workshop.

The building in Nieuwegein is fully optimized. It is gas-free, provides 70% of its own energy generation, is equipped with an air handling system with heat recovery, underfloor heating and has plenty of natural daylight, to contribute to good mental health. The workshop is a fully conditioned environment, where safety is the top priority. Equipped with efficient and smart overhead cranes, so that everyone has their own workplace. We are located at the hub of the Netherlands (the intersection of the A12, A27 and A2) which gives us a very favourable central location.

In addition to the well-being of our employees, we are also enthusiastically committed to society. For example, we are a sponsor of various sports clubs, the KWF, Stichting Hulphond and Stichting Opkikker. Together with a number of other companies on the Het Klooster business park, we have started an association that maintains close contacts with the municipality.

MAKE Center

We also invest in the future of the steel industry through our partnership with MAKE Center. This organization bridges the gap between education and companies and ensures that young people are enthusiastic about working in the steel industry, among other things. We have already been able to provide 3 young people with a great workplace with us, 2 of whom have continued to work with us after their education. Are you also thinking about developing yourself further? Then feel free to also take a look at the MAKE Center website to see if there is a training course offered in your area of interest.
